La Rue Corridor

The LRDP Draft Planning Scenario provides capacity to accommodate an additional 1,000 first-year students in residence halls. The La Rue Corridor also includes recreational and intercollegiate fields and facilities. These three campus programs, primarily located on La Rue Road, create a linear neighborhood that is spatially and programmatically cohesive.

Residence Halls

Residence Halls

Residence halls orient first year students to a campus living environment that supports and enhances academic achievement through various programs. In pursuit of these goals, campus helps students transition to university life, providing academic, social, and cultural programs that facilitate the advancement of leadership skills and develop responsible community members.

Campus Recreation

Campus Recreation

Campus Recreation provides fitness and recreation programs for the campus community through the operation and administration of several key facilities such as the Activities and Recreation Center. Recreational fields are an important component to campus life, serving both formal and informal play.

Athletics

Intercollegiate Athletics

Intercollegiate Athletics at UC Davis empowers student-athletes to compete at the highest level academically and athletically while preparing them to become the next generation of leaders.

4 Russell Boulevard

The revised LRDP Draft Planning Scenario retains all existing recreational fields except for the A Street Field: Russell Field, Howard Field, and Toomey Field are to remain in the northeast corner of campus for campus recreation and intercollegiate athletic programs, as well as other campus functions. In response to the potential loss of A Street Field and the potential increased participation in recreational programs associated with anticipated growth in enrollment, the revised LRDP Draft Planning Scenario includes the addition of lights on Russell Field and an additional three acres of recreational open space in West Village to mitigate increased participation in recreational programs.

For more information, go to the West Village webpage.

5 La Rue Road

The revised LRDP Draft Planning Scenario retains all existing recreational fields along La Rue Road; Hutchison Field and Dairy Road Field are to remain for campus recreation and intercollegiate athletic programs, as well as other campus functions. In response to the potential growth in athletic programs and increased participation in recreational programs associated with anticipated growth in enrollment, the revised LRDP Draft Planning Scenario includes a 10-acre site for additional recreational fields and athletic facilities east of Aggie Stadium, where the existing dairy is located.

For more information on the dairy, please see the West and South Campus webpage.

6 Equestrian Center

The Plan retains the Equestrian Center in the existing location. The 2003 LRDP previously designated a new facility at Russell Ranch.
